| Here's a simple set of instructions to create westen tack for your 1/6 scale horses. Pictured here is a Marx Destiny, but this bridle can be adjusted to fit any size horse. This is the least complicated bridle to make. |

| Start by making the bit. Bend a piece of the paperclip into the shape shown. The long piece should fit comfortably in the open mouth of the horse. | ![]() |
| Measure a piece of leather strap. This should be about 2 inches longer than the distance from the mouth, up one side of the face, across the ears, and then back down the other side. Fold the strap 3/8 inch from one end of the strap. Fold over the ring on the bit, glue flesh side to flesh side. Then clamp. Let dry Thread the jump ring on the other end of the leather lace, thread the end of the lace through the other bit ring, pull snug and then thread the end of the lace through the jump ring. The free end should be inside (facing the horse) of the bridle. You may have to crimp the jump ring a bit to get it to hold the lace in place. Friction should be enough to keep the bridle in place, yet allow it to be removed. |

The jump ring can be seen here, about 14 inch from the bit. Add the reins by folding the end over the bit, and gluing then clamp. Let everything dry, then you are ready to ride. |
