| Drill a hole in the remaining leg to insert wire. It does help to have the wire picked out first, so that you can match the diameter of the wire with the drill bit.

| Insert wire, and glue wire in place. This repair is fairly simple, just a hoof and fetlock, so the wire doesn't need to be very thick. For a major repair, use heavy wire. | ![]() |
| Take the repair in easy stages, allowing the epoxy to set between layers. In this step, force the epoxy tightly around the wire and the broken surface. Let this harden | ![]() |
| Sculpt the remaining portion of the hoof. The wire support should be shorter than the final legnth of the leg. If the wire is too long, bend it over and cover with epoxy. | ![]() |
| Add another layer of epoxy detail. | ![]() |
| Make any final adjustment on the size and angle of the hoof. The replacement part in now ready to be sanded and painted. | ![]() |
