Here's a missing ear. In this case the horse came from Goodwill, and the broken piece is gone for good.

For a small piece, start add the epoxy to the broken surface, and then extend the epoxy down the front and back of the ear stub. This will support the repair better than just counting on the surface area of the break for support. Once the epoxy has set, it is ready to sand and paint. .
