Could it be that rather then a balladeer out of the past he is a eternal balladeer, for it seems not matter to me if he sings things long pass, present or future he seems to be able to put the feel of those times into his music. Some of the tunes can be best described as bawdy, both The Threshing Machine and The Coachman while not vulgar leave little to the imagination as to what is happening or happens. That said they are both good tunes. Mr. Longcor is a wonderful balladeer. The mix of songs on this tape run from Medieval (or earlier) to the future, fantasy and horror/humor. It is a very diverse album. I must admit that I love Chainmail Mama. I also found Silver Bullet Blues to be hilarious. I appreciated Pillar of Hell for it is, a song about the Challenger mission. I enjoyed and appreciated all the songs but one. Never, Never Land I personally feel was a mistake, other then that I was quite pleased with this tape and considering that the tape contains 21 songs it is a pleasing collection of ballads.
